Learn how Cupanion helped fans stay hydrated at Super Bowl LIII

This past weekend we were thrilled and honoured to have taken part in the Super Bowl LIII Bud Light Hydration Team Challenge!

500 football fans participated in the Bud Light Hydration Team Challenge put on by Anheuser-Busch. Held in Atlanta, this Challenge provided the opportunity not only for football fans to come together and cheer on their favourite teams all weekend long, but also gave each participant the chance to Fill it Forward.

There are few events in American culture that bring as many people collectively around a single event quite like the Super Bowl, with even non-football fans consuming lots of food and drink, enjoying commercials, and relishing in the excuse to attend parties all weekend long, the grip that the Super Bowl event holds on America (and on the environment) is arguably quite like no other sporting event.

That’s why, this year, Cupanion partnered with Anheuser-Busch to help ensure Bud Light (and the NFLs) biggest weekend of the year was a little bit more Sustain-a-Bowl. Participants were each provided with a Cupanion reusable bottle that either featured the Patriots or the Rams team colours and a custom Fill it Forward tag in an effort to reduce single-use bottle waste. With the custom Fill it Forward tag + app particpants could challenge each others hydration team and give clean water to the Bud Light Anheuser-Busch Water Project in partnership with WaterAid. With every refill participants could help complete the project, which was a tap in Mozambique, serving a community.

The Bud Light Hydration Team Challenge was a fun, creative and interactive way to enable participants from pre-game anticipation to the play-by-play to the post-game celebrations to cheer- and to cheers- their favourite team on all while still promoting responsible drinking and sustianability at the same time!

​Moreover, every time a participant refilled their Cupanion resuable bottle they were having a positive impact on the environment. The Bud Light Hydration Challenge participants diverted over 800 single-use bottles from going to landfill!
